The Guilford Coalition on Adolescent Pregnancy Prevention recognizes outstanding individuals and organizations every year with the GCAPP STAR Awards. There are four award categories:
Adolescent
This award is given to a young person up the age of 19 who has contributed to promoting healthy lifestyles for youth in our community.
Professional
The Professional award is given to an individual working in the community with youth to promote healthy lifestyles. Priority is given to professionals working to reduce teen pregnancy and encourage healthy choices among youth in Guilford County.
Francesca King Memorial Award
This award honors the life of Francesca King who fought valiantly to live life to the fullest, despite health challenges. This award can be given to any adult volunteer who has given time and energy to promoting healthy lifestyles for youth and who exemplifies the positive example set by Francesca King.
Essential Piece
The Essential Piece award is given to an individual or organization who plays a crucial part in health promotion for youth in Guilford County.
